As Vancouverites, it's easy to forget how incredibly endowed we are with absolutely stunning spots to visit throughout the province. When it comes to scenic getaways, BC has got a plethora of options.
As a Vancouver import I try to make it my mission to visit as many different spots as I can, every time I have the chance to getaway. When I first moved here, it was hard to take me anywhere simply do to the sheer mesmerization I would find my self over and over again.
We all know about the common go-to's of course, places like Whistler, Victoria and Harrison Hot Springs but what about those spots a little more off the radar.
Here is a list of 8 hidden gems throughout BC that you must trek it to this fall.
There are many communities to choose from, all of which are as stunning as the last. There are tons of little cottages to stay at, or you can opt for a lodge stay but which ever you choose, expect serenity. It's time to turn off that phone, and enjoy some of BC's most beautiful views.
If you want some peace and quiet, then Savary Island is the place you need to visit. They offer tons of little cabins for rent where you can relax and watch the waves. Savary is known for its white sand beaches and spectacular sunsets and has been called by some, as heaven on Earth.
If you're the type that likes to get on the slopes early, a trip to Revelstoke is the perfect getaway option. They have already experienced some heavy snow fall, meaning you can get there, and then enjoy some relaxation at the resort. It's a little over six hour drive from Vancouver so hop in the car for a weekend away you won't forget.
These hot springs are the ultimate in relaxing! It has been healing bathers with it's mineral waters for hundreds of years. There is even a cave you can swim through that is something you need to experience in this lifetime. They are located in tiny Ainsworth BC, with a population of only 50, which is about an 8 and half hour drive from Vancouver so plan to stay for a bit!
The Khutzeymateen is an incredible spot in Prince Rupert where some tour operators have floating lodges in the inlet and offer absolutely stunning rustic chic accommodation. They have stunning trails to hike or even do a little fishing!
Invermere is the perfect place to kick your feet up and enjoy some well-deserved me time. It's absolutely stunning, has tons of little cabins available for rental, and is home to Arrowhead Brewing Company. It's about a nine hour drive from Vancouver, so plan to stay for the weekend at least!
Salt Spring Island is a dream anytime of the year, but the colours are absolutely stunning during the fall. Theres the Fall Fair for you to visit, and tons of beautiful accommodations to choose from. If you're looking to get away this fall, Salt Spring Island is definitely a great place to choose.
This is luxurious and relaxing trip worth taking! It's Surrounded by beautiful forestry and accessible only by air or sea. It's a 50-minute helicopter ride from Vancouver and a 75-minute water taxi ride from Campbell River, both of which are absolutely stunning.
