The 10 Most Beautiful Places In BC To Go For A 3-Day Weekend

Time to hit to road!

Do you know any better feeling than when it's finally the weekend? Yes, when there's a long weekend. One extra day to go on a trip - yes please!

There are so many beautiful spots to venture from Vancouver, some which could do with that one extra day, and we've compiled a list of the ten most beautiful places to go in British Columbia when you have a three day weekend. With the weather looking beautiful the next few weeks, there's no time like the present to head out on the road!

Whistler

Of course, Whistler. When weekend trips are mentioned - Whistler is on top of the list, and with good reason. During the summer months there are endless activities to do including hiking, swimming, biking, and more! Furthermore, accomodation during the summer months is drastically cheaper than the peak winter season.

Savary Island

Thanks to the warm Southern tide, Savary Island has the warmest water north of Mexico, as well as white sand beaches. If you're after a real getaway from the metro Vancouver life, this is the perfect weekend destination for you. Savary Island is one of the most beautiful islands in the Straight of Georgia and is easily accessible by sea plane - and there are plenty of resorts, vacation rentals, and B&Bs.

Osoyoos

Osoyoos is a small town that has a lot to offer - it has the province's warmest lake, as well as many wineries nearby. The word Osoyoos itself means "the place where two lakes meet", and the water is the place to be this summer! You can relax by the water or stand-up paddle board for an entire day - and then the next day spend it touring the local wineries.

Victoria

You can actually reach the charming town of Victoria in a half-hour seaplane trip - if you've never experienced this before you definitely need to see the stunning views of Vancouver from the plane. Be sure to experience a whale watching tour whilst you are in Victoria for the weekend, there are three orca pods totalling over 80 whales in Victoria's waters alone, and the season is perfect for whale watching!

Sooke

Although only an hour drive from Victoria, it feels like a completely different world. Whilst Victoria is perfect to experience quaint city life, Sooke offers the completely opposite - open oceans and nature. Many outdoor activities are on offer including kayaking, fishing, and zip-lining, but the best attraction during the summer is the Sooke Potholes, a popular local swimming spot.

Yoho National Park

Named for a Cree expression of awe and wonder, Yoho National Park is on the western slopes of the Canadian Rocky Mountains and features some of the most breathtaking waterfalls, scenery, and vertical rock walls in the country. If you are an adventurer, we can think of no better place to spend the three-day weekend!

Jones Lake

Located just outside of Chilliwack and only a few hours drive from Vancouver, this hidden gem is one of our top picks for a weekend away if you're an avid camper. It has amazing views of the surrounding mountains, greenery, as well as a crystal clear blue lake to relax on! It's also free to camp at, which is a huge perk.

Hornby Island

Nicknamed the Hawaii of British Columbia, Hornby Island features stretches of white sand paired with crystal clear waters. With the most stunning views on the west coast, although it can be quite difficult to get there (you have to take two ferries) it's definitely worth it. There are also an abundance of outdoor activities you can do on Hornby Island, including some of the best biking trails in BC!

Harrison

Harrison is a fantastic weekend destination filled with a rich history and natural wonders, including the world-famous BC hot springs! Harrison Lake is also a huge attraction where you can do various water activities and laze around in the sun, and follow it up with the relaxing healing hot mineral waters of Harrison Hot Springs.

Okanagan

Spend your weekend here touring the wineries, laying back and enjoying the sun, and rejuvenating in this beautiful region.
