British Columbia is well known for its vast natural beauty, so finding the “best” place to view them is a rather difficult quest.
From the popular tourist attraction of the Capilano Suspension Bridge to the various hiking trails found within Stanley Park, people come to BC to explore the great scenery of Canada, though perhaps the absolute greatest can be experienced at the Sea to Sky Gondola.
Located about an hour north of Vancouver, the Sea to Sky Gondola hovers above Howe Sound, a roughly triangular spectacle near Squamish, BC. Views of the large mountains and blue glistening water make for an incredible experience, though the gondola goes far beyond the eye candy of the nature surrounding it.
Also available at the attraction include their numerous hiking trails, a 100-metre long suspension bridge, mountaintop yoga lessons, and world-class rock climbing. The suspension bridge is open year-round and is one of the many activities that's included in your day ticket or season pass.
In order to get the best glimpse of the surrounding beauty, there are also three main viewing platforms that you can use: the Chief of Overlook viewing platform, the Spirit viewing platform, and the Summit Lodge viewing deck. The Summit Lodge is 5,000 square feet and even hosts the occasional wedding, where the bride and groom are able to get married in front of the picturesque Howe Sound.
Eventually, when you do happen to get hungry during your excursion, there are also multiple cafes and restaurants you can eat at within the lodge. Located on the Summit Lodge viewing deck is the Summit Eatery and Edge Bar, where you can dine along a breathtaking backdrop.
All three of the viewing platforms are easily accessible and are open all year. You can also find their schedule online to look for any upcoming events such as live music, wine pairing dinners and more.
