New, but also totally correct opinion: having to lug your wallet around everywhere is SUPER annoying. And having to hold up the checkout line at your fave shop because you're searching through an endless sea of receipts and reward cards to find your cash and/or debit and/or credit card? Um, yeah. No fun.

Which is exactly why I can't wait to tell you all about this new app that I'm OBSESSED with! Thanks to this app, won't have to carry around a wallet to make a bill payment again and you'll be earning reward points for EVERY transaction you make with the app anywhere in Canada. Points which, BTW, can be redeemed for free or discounted e-gift cards, which can be used to make online or in-store purchases!

The Paytm Canada app lets you pay all your bills on your smartphone. With every transaction that you make in the app, you will earn Paytm Points which you can redeem for free stuff, like coffee, gas and groceries - to name a few. You can even use your Paytm Points at Sephora and Esso, for UBER rides, or even to get yourself a meal on UBER Eats!

Paytm basically turns your bills into rewards, and trust me, it's SO simple to use. You just link your credit card, debit card, bank account or add money to your Paytm Cash, search from thousands of providers to find the service that you're looking for, pay it... and BOOM, you have gained yourself some FREE reward points. Points can be redeemed for tons of different brands, like Tim Hortons, Indigo, Cineplex, Lululemon, Starbucks, Amazon.ca and a whole lot more.

Basically, you're getting stuff for paying your bills - which you have to do anyway. With Paytm, 1 point is equal to $1, so you could kind of say that using Paytm is just giving free gifts to your very own self!

Oh, and PS? If you're the type of person who likes to be on top of their bill payments no matter what (and come on, you know you are), Paytm has a "Set It & Forget It" option! With this, you can pre-schedule all of your bill payments for specific dates and frequencies (weekly, monthly, annually, etc). You can also customize the amount you want to pay, and select your preferred payment method per bill - plus, you'll still get Paytm points using this method. And they let you pay most of your bills with your credit card, so you’ll literally collect your credit card points and Paytm points for every transaction. If you're travelling for a few weeks, or even if you're not, you don't have to worry about remembering bill payments all the time!

So here are the deets:

  • You get 1 point for every dollar spent to be redeemed at national brands, including Amazon.ca, Uber, Tim Hortons, ESSO, Skip The Dishes, Indigo, and many more.
  • You can also collect free gift cards when redeeming a minimum of 5,000 points (a $5 value).
  • e-Gift cards can also be purchased with a credit card and topped up with Paytm points.
  • Paytm points can be converted into Paytm Cash, which can instantly be used towards a bill payment or to send money nationwide.
  • You don’t get charged any service or convenience fees (literally $0!) when you use your linked bank account, Paytm Cash or Mastercard credit/debit card to make a payment on the App.

Omg, and the best part? That referral bonus, baby! Users will collect 5,000 points when a direct referral pays their first $50 bill through the App - and the direct referral will get the same!

If that's not enough to convince you, and even if you can't find a friend to sign-up? Well, there's even more good news! Paytm is now offering (for a very limited time) 10,000 Welcome Points to you when you sign up! Which means that when you download their free app and sign-up, you’ll collect 10,000 points - that's $10! - that you can instantly redeem for a free reward. So free stuff for JUST signing up. Sounds like a HUGE no-brainer.
