The Walking Dead's seventh season was all about Negan -- who he was, who he's killed, and who would eventually kill him. Season eight promised an all-out war against him and his Saviors, and delivered. It started with an attack on the show's long-term oppressors and ended in a final showdown between Rick's coalition and Negan's troops.
Season nine's midseason finale proved once again that the show is terrifyingly good, and with the second half of the ninth season returning on Sunday, fans are gearing up for what may be the most exciting midseason premiere in a while.
According to a press release released by AMC, the second half of The Walking Dead Season 9 "finds our groups of survivors, both old and new, continuing to deal with the impact of events that took place during the six years that have passed. Since the disappearance of Rick, many of these characters have become strangers to each other, and in some ways, strangers to themselves. What they do know is that they are in undeniable danger. They will soon realize the world just beyond does not operate as they thought. [...] What may appear to be normal in this post-apocalyptic world could actually be more disturbing and terrifying than when the apocalypse first broke out."
Are you ready?!
AMC's The Walking Dead will return to your TV screen on February 10th at 9:00pmET/PT, but limit your washroom and snack breaks -- an insane prize is in store for those who pay close attention to the midseason premiere.
AMC is hosting a giveaway for Canadian fans, offering the grand prize winner a trip for two to Los Angeles on March 31 to attend a taping of Talking Dead (The Walking Dead's live after-show which airs directly after episodes) and experience a tailor-made trip for the ultimate The Walking Dead fan.
To enter, fans must watch the show and visit www.Theultimatewalkingdead.com to answer a question about the premiere. The contest is open to Canadian residents (including Quebec! Finally, am I right guys?) who have reached the age of majority in their province.
Talking Dead airs live immediately following Sunday night presentations of The Walking Dead and its spinoff, Fear the Walking Dead. It features recaps of the most recent episode, where cast and crew talk with fans, actors and producers and take questions from viewers. It's the ultimate place to come face-to-face with the show's most-loved characters, if you're lucky.
For the contest, AMC's grand prize is a round trip to LA for two to sit in the audience of the post-show on March 31. Two nights of accommodation is included as well as two tickets to Universal Studios for The Walking Dead Attraction and $500 CAD in spending money per person.
If you don't win, don't worry. There are 20 secondary prizes of The Walking Dead merchandise, which is still pretty cool!
