Hi, my name is Reza, just your average guy living in Toronto for the past 20 years. Full time, I work in the media advertising industry but on the side, I eat burgers! Not only do I eat them, but I've dedicated my time to road tripping across Canada, looking for the best burger this country has to offer.
Over the past few years, I have spent my vacation time on my quest to find the best burger. It all stems from my love of cars and the desire to explore the world. And maybe some influence from the hosts of, The Grand Tour.
Let me take you back to New Year's Eve 2016, I was in Dubai visiting some family where I made this post on Facebook and shared it with my friends. At the time I was totally joking... I think.
The next day, I ended up getting a burger for lunch, snapping a pic of it, and sharing it on my Instagram page. To my surprise, people seemed to actually care about what I had to say. Then 6 burgers in, back in Canada people were asking me, "Hey, let's go get a burger!" By the end of the year, that became, "Hey, where can I get the best burger from?"
Throughout 2016, I drove from Barcelona to Valencia to Granada eating burgers and watching soccer. That inspired me to plan another road trip, this time from Northern Italy, through the Swiss Alps, to Zermatt, and finally Geneva. I then traveled to Mauritius, an island just off the East coast of Africa, and finally made it back to Dubai to visit my family, all where the journey started. Including Canada, that was 7 countries I managed to eat a burger in daily.
I got a great reception last year, with many folks asking me what I planned on doing to "one-up" my daily burger challenge. That lead me to plan a Canada-wide cross-country road trip, in a hunt for the best burger the country has to offer. Living in Canada for 20 years, I've only visited a handful of cities, none of them being out East or West. Being that is was Canada's 150th birthday this year, I thought it would be appropriate to travel the great nation over the summer.
On June 30th I left Toronto and made my way East, in goal was to reach Halifax on Canada Day and kick off my burger journey. I've managed to make my way back from Nova Scotia and am currently posted up in Montreal where I've been crashing for a few days. I will be providing updates and recaps sharing my tips on burgers to grab and places to check out as I pass through each province moving West.
In preparing for the journey, I knew I would be spending almost 80+ hours in the car so I had to make it feel a bit more, Burgerventurish. So I decided to decorate it with a little burger charm and hung it on my rear view mirror to keep my mind on the right path as I explore the great white north!
Make sure to follow my social accounts where I will be sharing daily updates on my adventures. My Instagram is where you will find all my burger pics. I'm starting to get the hang of IG Stories and Snapchat and am using those to share random tidbits I come across along the drive. I will be updating my website and YouTube page over the next couple days. The site will have photo galleries of the some of the scenery, my car, and of course, burger pics. I have never done a "video blog but I am attempting to do those once a week just to further document the burgers and moments on the road.
I look forward to sharing this journey with you all!
