Winter can be hell. It's hard to feel fabulous when you're stuck at home or bundled up in 13 layers you never get to take off because your office is freezing and your classrooms are even colder. You suck it up all week, so you deserve to dress up and go out.

If your resolution is to stay on budget, get out of the house more or take more time for yourself – you can absolutely do it. If you're just looking for something fun to do next weekend, you're all good too.

Here are 12 things you can do in Winnipeg that will help you feel classy AF but won't break the bank.

1. Spend the day at Thermea

The outdoor spa might look expensive, but visits cost less during the week AND you can stay all day. Plus, there's nothing more relaxing than sitting in hot tubs, especially when it's -27 C outside. Just remember to bring your own robe, because rentals are extra $$.

Cost: $46 from Monday to Thursday

2. Stop for brunch at Clementine Cafe

Vogue singled them out of all the amazing breakfast spots in town, so you know they have to be good. They don't take reservations, but their Turkish Eggs and Coconut Curry Mushroom Toast are absolutely worth waiting for.

The upstairs bar is super cozy in the winter, and they even make boozy hot drinks! The craft cocktails all have incredible names and come topped with edible, sparkly, Instagram-worthy glitter. The space is small enough that you can actually hear the people you're with, but that means it fills up quickly, so get there early!

8. Sweat it out with a WPG Cycle spin class

This place is all about inspiration and energy. It might feel more high class than your old gym, but it's definitely not a place where you'll feel judged if you're just starting out or getting back into shape. If you're new, come 20 minutes before class for a tour and some tips.

Cost: varies – drop-in rides are $20, and a $40 new rider special is available

9. Hang out at Forth

It's not just a coffee shop. Forth Projects has some ridiculously good cocktails, and the space plays host to all kinds of local events. It's still one of the most relaxing spots in the city, full of comfy couches, natural light and tons of local goodies. Psst ... it's also a great study space!

Cost: almost everything on the food and beverage menus is under $15

Nothing says fancy like specialty olive oil. You can stop in anytime for a complimentary tasting, and most of the oils are pretty reasonably priced, so you can cook your own insane meals at home.

11. Treat your toes with a pedicure at The Glam Bar

"Winnipeg's first LA-style spa" treats you like the queen (or king) you are. They have amazingly comfy chairs a much more relaxed atmosphere than the spa you run to when you have 20 minutes to fix a gel nail emergency. Speaking of, they do a great shellac manicure, if pedis aren't your thing.

Cost: $45 for a classic pedicure

12. Top your day off with tapas at Segovia

This place is on every "top romantic restaurants in Winnipeg" list for a reason, but it's also a great spot for a girls' night. They don't take reservations, so you might just want to rush there after work and snack all night. PS: they also do dessert!

Cost: varies, but everything is pretty affordable
