11 Fun Things To Do This Summer In St. John's That Cost Less Than $11

Summer is almost here and there are so many things to do! Tons of restaurants to try and lots of drinks to be had. You're finally going to get that tan you've been longing for all winter. However, you don't want to break the bank just yet. 

What will $11 give you in St. John's? Plenty of fun if you do it right! We all know you're not going to get a four-course meal but there are better things anyway. Fill your boots with any of these activities this summer and you won't be disappointed.

Get a few friends together and have a laugh at on Geroge Street. Over the Summer there will be tons of drink specials from 345 or jug specials. Hit up Sun Dance for high ball specials or Rob Roy's for 345! With specials like these $11 will leave you feeling pretty good!

Play mini putt at Sir Admirals John's

For only $8 you can play a round of mini putt! Grab a few friends and make an afternoon out of it. Some of them can be pretty challenging while others are like a walk in the park. Either way you're bound to have a whole lot of fun.

Buy lunch from Manna Bakery and go for a picnic in Bowring Park

Try a delicious sandwich from Manna and don't forget to include a tasty danish! Pack it all up and head over to Bowring Park. Where there are tons of places to pop a squat, soak up the sun and indulge in your scrumptious lunch.

Win some prizes at the Regatta!

The Royal Newfoundland Regatta only comes around once a year! Shove 11 bucks in your pocket and dart on down. There are a bunch of games to choose from: plinko, shoot the target, pop the balloons and the list goes on. Who knows, you might even leave with more than what you came with.

Grab ice cream at Moo Moo's

Stack your cone high at Moo Moo's this Summer. With so many delightful flavours it's going to be hard not to try them all. I recommend loading up a bowl with a banana split. It's the only logical choice when it comes to ice cream.

Sample different treats downtown on Water Street 

Go on a dessert crawl downtown. Treat yourself to a bunch of little treats at various shops downtown. A few goodies to start from would be Newfoundland Chocolate Company, Rocket Bakery and or Fixed Coffee. All of these are excellent choices to start off your dessert feed.

Buy some food at Belbins and have a BBQ 

Belbins Grocery sells steaks, fresh veggies, chicken along with various other BBQable items. So invite a few friends over and start barbequing! Make a day of it and even have a few wobbly pops.

Roast some smores at Middle Cove Beach

Okay so it's not directly in St. John's, but it's too good not to include. It's no secret Middle Cove Beach is a hot spot in the summer. It's one of the best places to get your s'more on and kick back and relax. Load up on chocolate, marshmallows and graham crackers and satisfy your sweet tooth. All while you hear the waves crashing into the beach and gaze up at the beautiful moonlit sky.

Buy water balloons and have a water fight 

Take a trip to your local dollar store and stock up on balloons. You're about to have the biggest water fight ever! Round up the by's, water guns and fill those tiny balloons to the brim. Nothing beats a hot summer's day like a good ol' fashion water fight.

Do some yoga in Bannerman Park

This activity really doesn't cost you very much but your time and patience. However, if you invest in a nice blanket and water bottle it makes the experience all the more enjoyable. Hit up Hemp Ware for an awesome blanket and or Outfitters for a deadly water bottle to join you on your mini yoga retreat at Bannerman Park.

The Rock House has tons of live events all Summer long! Better not miss any of these shows because all your friends will be there. Cover isn't anything huge but depends on who's playing. Either way you can't miss a beat when it comes to The Rock House! The bands are usually so good you won't want to get hammered!
