There are some fantastic places around the province that you and the bae can escape to for a weekend of one on one time. From resorts to historic towns with a variety of activities to keep you busy, this list will help you plan your first, and possibly many more couples adventure.
Drive from Halifax: 1 hour and 11 minutes
With only a short driving trip outside of the city, historic Lunenburg will give you and your s.o. a quick simple trip away from the busy city. From coffee shops to stunning historical architecture, Lunenburg makes for an easy and enjoyable getaway.

If you and your partner feel like slipping off the grid for the weekend, grab your sleeping bags and head for Shubie Park in Dartmouth. Either bring your own gear and camp out, or stay in their incredibly awesome Yurt! Filled with tons of hiking trails, gardens, wildlife and so much more, Shubie Park has so much to offer. If you get bored of nature (I mean, how could you?!), you can head over to Dartmouth Crossing to catch a movie or a bite to eat.

Along the South Shore, Chester is an ideal, picturesque getaway if you and your partner enjoy sailing and seafood. Get comfy at a local B&B and spend your days wandering through Graves Island Provincial Park or go kayaking. For something more low-key, stop by Light My Fire Studio and make your own candles! If you're both into sailing, head down in August for Chester's annual sailing regatta.

Although it's a little further out of the city, a perfect place to disconnect from the office or the city is the stunning Liscombe Lodge. With their various types of accommodations and immersed in nature, you'll never want to leave this Eastern Shore hideaway. This venue is also perfect for weddings, so it may not be a bad idea for you and yours to scope out the place for future reference.

Pictou Lodge is a stunning place to escape to for any couple looking to hideaway from reality for a while. Snuggle up in a hammock, hop on a coaster bicycle or just relax next to a bonfire on one of the private beaches. With the option to stay in cottages with a breathtaking ocean view, separated from the main lodge, it gives your stay a more private and definitely more romantic feeling. If you're looking to get even further away, there's a ferry near the town that travels to Prince Edward Island.

Head out to Keji for some romantic time under the stars: explore the woods or just kick back next to a bonfire. Wander around the boardwalks and take advantage of your 2017 Parks Pass! For those couples that still want the rustic experience of being out in the woods but don't love sleeping in tents, check out the beautiful Trout Point Lodge. The resort offers a variety of lodging options, including private cottages and beautiful rooms in the main building, built like a log cabin from spruce trees! There's even a wooden hot-tub in the woods by a nearby river (the perfect place for a romantic afternoon).

Lastly, head out to Digby Pines for some relaxing time close to The Bay of Fundy. Either relax together at the spa or take part in a wine tour at one of the nearby vineyards. If spa treatments aren't up your alley, there's also zip lining, golf courses and Upper Clements Amusement and Adventure Park, all close to the resort.
