Go for the cheap date alternative next time you're deliberating what to do for date night, and save some cash for a weekend away during the warm spring months!

1. Check out an exhibition at The Kyhber

The new Kyhber Centre For The Arts on Hollis Street often features affordable, pay-what-you-can exhibits for local artists and art lovers.  Bring your partner to Love In A Time Of Trauma on Sunday, March 5th at 1pm!


2. Grab a coffee and explore the Halifax Central Public Library

Pick up a cappuccino from Pavia with bae and stroll through the Central Public Library, voted by Wired Magazine as one of the most beautiful libraries in the world.  You can often catch free informative lectures or performances like the Library Concert which will be taking place on Saturday April 8th.


3. After a snowfall go Tobogganing at The Pit

If you’re looking to enjoy the fresh pow but can’t make it all the way to Wentworth, grab some sleds and hit the slopes at Merv Sullivan Park in Halifax's North End.

12. Stargaze at the SMU observatory

On the second and fourth Friday of every month at 7pm the SMU observatory offers free shows featuring photo and video footage of constellations across Nova Scotia.
