On the Halifax City website, the Emera Oval tentatively announced that they will be hosting their first public skate of the season next week. On Thursday, December 15th at 7am the rink will finally be open for Haligonians to enjoy, weather permitting. For those that don’t have any gear you can borrow free skates and helmets from the folks working at the Oval. For more information about the Oval’s free skate schedule, click here.
The Emera Oval can be found in the Halifax Common, and is one of the best places to enjoy a public skate in the HRM. The largest outdoor, artificially-refrigerated ice surface east of Quebec City, the Oval is the size of three NHL hockey rinks, and can accommodate up to 1500 skaters at one time. Be one of those skaters next week!
