The long weekend is fast approaching, and it’s forecast to be a sunny one! We know you just want to relax after a long work week, but summer is coming to an end and you have to take advantage of this weather while it lasts!
Get a squad together and make the most of your Labour Day long weekend by trying one of the awesome activities listed below.
1. Get involved with the Atlantic Fringe Festival
Catch a show or take part in a workshop at one of the multiple venues all over Halifax hosting Atlantic Fringe Festival events from September 1st-11th.
2. Do some shopping
This Saturday the Halifax Shopping Centre will be hosting a pop up event on Dal campus between noon and 4pm – head over and enter some of their awesome raffles!
3. Enjoy the Acoustic Roots Festival
This weekend catch a lineup of award winning musicians play an awesome outdoor concert at Two Rivers Wildlife Park in Cape Breton!
4. Go the beach!
Drive out to Conrad’s or Martinique Beach this weekend and get your tan on while the weather is still nice!
5. Explore the Halifax Forum Farmers Market
Saturday from 8am-3pm local farmers and vendors will get together to host a Farmers Market in the Halifax Forum that everyone can enjoy.

As part of their Summer Concert series The Public Gardens will host the Back Alley Big Band on their grandstand stage from 2pm-4pm this Sunday.

9. Chill out at the spa
It’s a long weekend, relax! The Spirit Urban Spa on Salter Street is marking their body wraps down 25% until September 9th.
10. Go for a hike
Road trip out to The Bluff Wilderness Hiking Trail or the Salt Marsh Trail, both rocking some beautiful views only a half-hour drive outside Halifax.
11. Check out East Coast Country Night
This Friday at 9pm Samantha Power will be doing a free performance at Casino Nova Scotia as part of East Coast Country Night’s ongoing performance series.
12. Party at The Jam: A Northend Dance Party
Saturday night at The Seahorse Tavern DJ T-Woo and DJ Loukas Stilldrunk will be hosting their epic monthly dance party, with free admission before 11pm!
