In less than 24 hours Programm will take the stage at Art Bar to kick off what is sure to be another awesome year for Halifax Pop Explosion: the wildly popular local music festival that will be taking over downtown Halifax from October 19th to the 22nd. Over 150 different musicians, comedians and artists will be performing at a variety of venues all over the city from Wednesday to Saturday night.
Bands from all over the world have flown in to perform alongside some incredible local acts at over 15 different venues throughout the HRM. The Forum, The Marquee, The Seahorse, The Carleton, Art Bar, Gus’s, Reflections and the Rebecca Cohn will all be hosting some unreal shows that you can’t miss! For the 11th year in a row, HPX will also facilitate a free XPAND Music Conference, featuring the first annual Canadian Label Summit which will be held at the Halifax Central Library on October 20th and 21st. Those looking for advice on ways to enter the music industry will have a chance to hear from record label executives at Sup Pop Records, Warp Records and Last Gang Records about some tips and strategies on ways to get your music heard.
A series of conferences about working in today's creative sector will be held at The Halifax Youth Pavilion & Art + Bar from October 15th – 22nd as part of the Emerge lecture series – with all talks being free to attend!
