It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas - literally. Though it’s only early November, people all over Nova Scotia are getting ready for the big day by planning Christmas Markets, putting up decorations and waiting for the snow to fall. And what better way to celebrate than by getting out of the city and immersing yourself in a fully decked out Winter Wonderland?
Drive out to Sherbrooke Village in Guysburough County later this month for their annual Old Fashioned Christmas celebration to experience the ultimate Nova Scotian holiday celebration. Sherbrooke has preserved many of it’s original 19th century buildings to create a historical time capsule that brings a different time to life along the St. Mary’s River. Actors dressed as villagers from over one hundred years ago share the regions history with visitor’s year round.
This year, on both the weekends of November 25th and the weekend of December 3rd , the village will turn into a winter paradise, featuring an opening night tree lighting, a candle light procession, fireworks and live musical entertainment. There will be craft sales and workshops, a concert, festive dining, Jingle Run, Victorian tea and much more for everyone to enjoy – check out the full festival itinerary here!
