The Skyline Trail Is Blessed With Some Of The Most Spectacular Views In Nova Scotia (11 Photos)

Open from mid-May until the end of October, this is one Nova Scotian trail that you have explore when the weather warms up. Visitors from all over the world flock to Cape Breton’s Skyline Trail for some unprecedented views of the winding Cabot Trail, surrounding cliff sides and the Gulf of St. Lawrence. Watch for whales, bald eagles and moose that roam the region during your 9km hike along this famous route.
The trail is considered an easy adventure and takes about 2 or 3 hours for an amateur hiker to complete. Be sure to bring plenty of water, lots of snacks and a map of the Cape Breton Highlands National Park. A park pass is required for hiking or visitation of the park and entry fees apply. You can check in at the Parks Canada Visitor Centres in Chéticamp (16 Visitor Centre Rd., situated on the west side of the park) or in Ingonish (37637 Cabot Trail, on the east side of the park) to obtain passes, information on visitor safety and any other information you may need, including a trail location map.
