Everyone knows that waffles are the best breakfast food. And if you disagree, then you're in a for a treat.
However, you technically don't have to disagree. If your favourite breakfast dish is eggs benedict, huevos rancheros, or maybe you're not a breakfast person at all and prefer lunch/dinner. Well, good news. You can get all three meals a day on top of a waffle at Pressed. Don't get what I mean? Read on.
Pressed is a restaurant in Ottawa that serves delicious food, but their most delicious items are their crazy waffles. They have breakfast every day of the week, but their 'weekend waffle brunch' from 9 am to 2 pm is their most prime time. Their menu changes every so often, but that just means you get to try more food on waffles!
They have options such as icing sugar and maple syrup on a waffle for those who aren't adventurous with food, but for those that are, get ready. Here are just some of the options you have:
- Eggs benedict on a waffle
- Huevos rancheros on a waffle
- Smoked trout and poached eggs on a waffle
- Caramelized apples and cheddar cheese on a waffle
- Slow smoked brisket and cheese curds on a waffle
- Chicken fritters on a waffle
And like I said earlier, the waffles change all the time. They've had options like poutine waffles, banana split waffles, brownie waffles, steak and egg waffles, and so much more. Every weekend, they have a featured waffle on the menu which ends up being one of those crazy waffles just mentioned. See, I told you you would end up liking waffles.
If you're looking for a new brunch spot, this is it. Of course they have other options such as sandwiches, vegan/vegetarian plates, salads, etc., but if you're going to Pressed, you need to go for the waffles. But just a warning, you'll probably start craving them daily.
Pressed is located at 750 Gladstone Ave and the hours vary, but it opens at 9 am daily. For more information on hours, location, and of course waffles, click here.
