When you find something unique about Ottawa, all you want to do is keep it to yourself. However, this is something I can't keep to myself. Since we always complain about the lack of "beaches" we have in Ottawa, I figure I'd help you out with a hidden gem.
Morrison's Quarry, which is a half hour drive from Ottawa, is the perfect spot to spend a summer day. Located in Wakefield, Quebec is this hidden swimming hole that has the clearest water anyone from Ottawa has seen near the city.
This site is normally used for scuba diving training, as well as the highest bungee jump in Canada. However, you can also use it during the summer to get your tan on, BBQ and just hang out with your BFFs or bae. If you thought it couldn't get better, there is also a slide and a floating deck that is open for you to use. Score!
Although this quarry is not free, and it is a $5 per person, it's more than worth it. You get a place to hang out all day, and you can bring a picnic or even use a BBQ if you're that prepared. Don't worry, the $5 is worth the memories you'll make.
For more information, check out their website. Prepare to have the best summer ever at this gorgeous spot!
