Ottawa Police and fire crews are now investigating a terrifying situation in the city this morning after 40 children were exposed to a mysterious and dangerous substance.
The children, all between the ages of six and twelve, were on a school bus arriving at their elementary school when some began showing symptoms like coughing, shortness of breath, nausea, and vomiting. The bus was quickly evacuated and emergency responders were called to the scene.

Paramedics assessed all the children coming off the bus and at least 15 of them had to be transported to a nearby hospital for further testing and treatment. Fortunately, the quick evacuation meant none of the symptoms were too severe.
Firefighters and police were also called to the scene on Kaladar Avenue, where they have since closed the road for a hazardous materials investigation. Both fire and police services advised Ottawa residents to stay away from the area.
