No plans this weekend? We got you.
Cracking open a cold one is a time-honoured tradition and, this weekend, Ottawa's appreciation for beer is heading to the next level.
The 6th annual Ottawa Beer Fest at Lansdowne is going to be offering over 40 different selections of craft beer to sample from as well as some other beer-related activities that are guaranteed to get you a little tipsy. What's brewing this weekend includes beer yoga and even a 5k beer marathon where you get a free beer if you get to the finish line. Talk about motivation.
The festival, which claims itself to be the largest in Eastern Ontario, is offering Ontario craft favourites like Amsterdam, Perth Brewery and ABC. They'll also be serving European imports, as well as ciders and wine.
There'll also be local bands playing to liven things up and even a beer school to make you a beer expert.
The festival will be taking place this weekend from June 16 - June 18 and tickets can be bought online here. Tickets per day, when bought online, cost $19.00 with tax. Registration for the 5k Craft Beer Run can be found here. Sampling tickets for beer can be bought in sheets of 20 for $20.00, with samples coming in at 4 oz. each.
The event will be taking place at Aberdeen Pavillion in Lansdowne Park. For more info, you can check out their website here.
