Even though there is still snow on the ground, we are all so ready for spring. The temperatures are still chilly, but sooner than we know it spring will fully be here. "Official" spring starts tomorrow, so what are you waiting for?! It's time to plan out what you're going to be doing these next few months. Whether you love nature, food, or drinks there is seriously something for everyone this spring.
Spring is a time of change, whether you do some major spring cleaning or get that haircut you have always wanted, now is the time to do it! Much like the flowers, spring is a time where we all blossom and see where this new year will take us. Whether it has to do with a new job opportunity, a trip abroad, or even simply donating out a ton of clothes you don't wear, this season is for growth. Hit up the iconic Canadian Tulip Festival
This is by far one of my personal favourite things to do every spring. By the time this rolls around everyone is wearing their best and brightest outfits. Not to mention the weather is finally bearable! Tulip Festival is perfect for a day filled with strolling, talking, and snacking.
Head to Ottawa’s PoutineFest 2018
It’s time to have an ultimate cheat day by attending Ottawa’s iconic PoutineFest. If you love the deliciousness that is poutine then you have to make your way to this unbelievable food festival. With over 100 different poutine choices you are sure to be spoilt with choice of which poutine to have. The festival will run from April 19th to 22nd at Ottawa City Hall.
Check out Lansdowne's Farmers Market
Every Sunday from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm you can make your way to Lansdowne's Farmers Market for a fun-filled morning. While at the market you can have fresh food, admire fresh flowers, and get your favourite local grains, meats, cheeses, fruits and veggies.

If you’re someone that loves everything and anything maple syrup then you have to head to this cute sugar bush. From the fresh pancakes available at the pancake house to the sweet maple taffy freshly made at the farm, you are in for a fun day. The sugar bush closes of April 15th, so make your way here this spring!

With warmer weather comes more fruity and refreshing foods. During the winter it’s easy to get stuck drinking hot coffee and eating a muffin, but with spring weather upon us now is your chance to embrace yummy fruity treats. The Blended Berry opened for it’s second season around April last year, so this year let’s hope it opens at the same time.

This is your chance to watch the dynamic duo Tessa and Scott perform! If you watched them skate during this years Olympics you KNOW you are in for a fantastic show. Watch as you see their love and passion for skating unfold. The event is on April 29th and tickets are selling quick so be sure to get them ASAP.

This bar located in Gatineau is sure to have you in a spring mood as soon as you take a single sip. The drinks that they serve up are unlike anything you've ever tasted before. This is such a great bar to go to with your best friends for the night, you will chat and drink the night away.
Take part in Yoga On The Hill
This is seriously an Ottawan favourite. If you still haven’t participated in doing yoga on parliament hill now is your chance. During the spring it doesn’t get AS crowded as it does during the hot summer months, so now really is the perfect time to go. Yoga on the hill starts in May and runs until August. It happens every Wednesday from 12 pm to 1 pm.
Attend Ottawa ComiCon for a fun filled day
From May 11th to May 13th Ottawa ComiCon will take over. Last year Ottawa ComiCon welcomed so many iconic actors including Mathew Lewis from Harry Potter, Adam West from Batman, andfrom Riverdale! This year Ottawa is welcoming from Lord of the Rings and from Game of Thrones.

This is such a fun way to spend your day. From April 18th to 22nd you can watch the Canadian Improv Games National Tournament. Students from across Canada will travel to Ottawa to perform and you have to watch. From funny jokes to hilarious acts this is something you are sure to love if you loved your high school drama class!

During the springtime, Major’s Hill Park completely transforms into a tulip wonderland. If you love tulips you will 100% love the park during this time of the year. If you can’t make it out to the Tulip Festival at Dow’s Lake, Major’s Hill Park is a perfect alternative.
Attend a Nature Nocturne event at the Canadian Museum of Nature
Get all dressed up and head to the museum for the night. Nature Nocturne happens every month at the Canadian Museum of Nature, so you have a couple of chances to attend it this spring. Spring dates include March 23rd, April 27th, and May 25th.

Sula Wok is a mobile food that just opened up its own restaurant in Ottawa. Since their business was doing so well they wanted to provide their delicious food all year round, they opened up a take out/dine in restaurant in Old Ottawa East. While the truck and the restaurant have different menus, you can build your own Asian taco at both!

This pretty restaurant and bar is located in the ByWard Market. They serve up American contemporary cuisine, with specialty cocktails and drink pairings. Foreign Cinéma is open for dinner and after dinner is served, the restaurant transforms into a bar. If you are looking for somewhere new and refreshing to go, definitely check out Foreign Cinéma this spring.

If you love tasty salads then you have to try this spot in Ottawa. The salads are super healthy and are truly cared for by the staff. Mad Radish believes that healthy food doesn't have to taste like cardboard and they work hard to create unique and delicious salad's that everyone will love.
