Poutine is the ultimate Canadian comfort food that you crave. Nothing beats a mouthful of squeaky cheese curds, gravy, and crispy French fries. This spring in Ottawa there will be a massive, mouth-watering poutine festival where you can devour this delicious dish.
Ottawa Poutine Fest is returning this year and will be at Ottawa City Hall from May 2-5, 2019. At the huge festival, there will be over 100 different types of poutine to try, including some that are gluten-free and vegetarian. So make sure to arrive hungry as you are going to want to try plenty of the unique poutines available!
At the event, the different food vendors will be competing for who makes the best poutine. This year the categories will be the best traditional, exotic, and extreme poutine and you will have the chance to vote for your favorites.
Expanding from past years, Ottawa Poutine Festival will have plenty of activities happening to keep you entertained. In addition to trying all the unique types of poutine and voting for your favorite, there will be a poutine eating contest, a rock climbing wall, and live entertainment.
Admission to the festival is free, and it will be open from on Thursday, May 2 to Friday, May 3 from 11 am - 9 pm, on Saturday, May 4 from 11 am -10 pm and on Sunday, May 5 from 11 am - 6 pm. For more information about the event see Ottawa Poutine Festival's website.
