Dust off those old skates and get 'em sharpened, because Sens Rink of Dreams is now open.
This 12,500 square foot rink located at Ottawa City Hall has been a tradition in Ottawa for 4 years now, and Ottawans look forward to it every year. If you're not familiar with the Sens Rink of Dreams, then you must not be from Ottawa. Anyways, it's funded by the Sens Foundation, Hockey Canada and City of Ottawa and operates from November to March seven days a week, weather permitting. If you're not sure if the rink is open, check for the green flag at the rink!
The rink includes LED lighting, a heated changing room and picnic tables to snack at. And of course, no ice skating rink in Ottawa would be complete without a BeaverTail shack.
Sens Rink of Dreams is a perfect place to take a first date, especially if you're looking for something cheap but fun to do during the winter. The rink is open from 6 am to 11 pm and you are required to bring your own skates, since you cannot rent them on site.
The official opening of the rink is Thursday, December 1st 2016. For more information, check out the City of Ottawa's website.
