It's not a secret that Canadian's love to hike. If you tell us about a trail, we'll find a way to get there. I mean, Canada is filled with beautiful views, whether that's of mountains, lakes, oceans, etc. But sometimes we find gems that we don't want to tell anyone about... but that's kind of my job.
While we don't have anything like Banff National Park in the rest of Canada, we do have something else that will make you feel like you left the country. The stunning views of Jacques-Cartier National Park in Québec let you see a beautiful glacial valley, which you can hike on, canoe on, snowshoe on, etc.!
Just 30 minutes outside of Québec City is this park that is perfect during all seasons. If you love hiking, there are 100 km worth of hiking trails around Jacques-Cartier National Park, which means you'll get to see it's beauty from all around!
Located in the Laurentian Mountains, around 150,000 to 200,000 people visit the park each year. New to the park is a 350-metre ice pathway where skaters can get an even better view of the valley. Aside from ice skating, you can do so many things at Jacques-Cartier National Park. Skiing, hiking, fishing, biking, kayaking and so much more are available to you at this beautiful park. Being open all year round is such a blessing, considering it looks so different every season.
You can even make this a road trip and stay a little while in Québec City! The scenery is to die for, and you won't be disappointed no matter what activity you choose to do. This valley 100% looks like it's not in Canada, which could make the road trip even more exciting!
Jacques-Cartier National Park is located near Québec City and the address is 103 Chemin du Parc-National. It's about a 5 and a half hour drive from Ottawa.
