Toronto foodies, the wait is almost over! Winterlicious is back again this 2018 from January 26th until February 6th, but let's be real, it's never too early to start planning where you want to go! If you don't know what Winterlicious is, I'm about to blow your mind. Each restaurant that participates offers a lunch menu between $23-$33 and dinner feature from $33-$53, and did I mention they both services are three-course meals?
Plus, we aren't just talking about random local restos, we are talking about the super boujee and normally very expensive spots that lower their prices only for this time of year! So let's review the best 11 restos on this years list that you need to check out!
The Chase Fish & Oyster
Where: 10 Temperance St
If you love seafood, you've probably heard of The Chase. From their incredible patio and interior to the actual food, the spot never gets a bad review! Though, if you are on a budget, their seafood platters running several hundreds of dollars probably aren't the most realistic things for you to buy. Luckily, with Winterlicious you can try tons of different delicious items like saffron risotto, a roasted sea bream or even grilled Humboldt squid!
Where: 100 Cumberland St
If you've been in the Yorkville area, you have definitely come across Sassafraz. The adorable spot features French-inspired Canadian cuisine and an incredible (but also pricey) menu year round. This Winterlicious they'll be hosting menu items like arctic char, Paccheri pasta, and Ontario lamb meatballs!
Oliver and Bonacini Café Grill
Where: 2901 Bayview Ave
If you are looking for some great Italian as well as some other contemporary dishes, look no further than O&B! They'll be serving dishes like tuna poke bowls and red chili honey glazed salmon for lunch. Then for dinner introducing menu items like Moroccan-spiced chicken and crispy curried potato and cheese pierogies!
Where: 190 University Ave
If you haven't eaten here, you've definitely at least seen the incredible glass cube building this resto resides in. The Ontario inspired restaurant will be serving up dishes ranging from beef rice bowls to spicy clams during their lunch service. Then for dinner bringing out dishes like fried chicken buns and grilled pork shoulder steak!
Where: 131 Bloor St W
La Société is a little slice of Paris in Yorkville! Not only is the interior gorgeous, but their food is authentic and delicious! Luckily, you can avoid a massive bill this Winter and still grab some great dishes like their mushroom pappardelle or beef tartar!
Where: 455 King St W
Haven't made the trip to Drake's restaurant collab with Susur Lee? Now is the perfect time! Their usual pricey menu will be replaced with a $53 dinner service with items like caponata siciliano creamy polenta and crispy jerk chicken! Plus you can finally snag a photo in front of the neon sign before you pop in!
Colette Grand Café
Where: 550 Wellington St W
Colette is another French-inspired spot that will have you feeling as though you took the trip to Paris the moment you walk in the door! They specialize in seafood as well with dishes like squid and Fogo island cod being just two of the numerous menu items available this season. If seafood isn't you think but you love French cuisine, don't worry- they've also got fan favourites like beef cheek and schnitzel!
Cibo Wine Bar
Where: 133 Yorkville Ave
This Italian eatery in Yorkville is the perfect spot to not only grab some wine but an incredible meal as well! For Winterlicious they've got a ton of mouth-watering dishes on the menu that won't put a dent in your bank account. From warm vegetable panino and salmone fresco Atlantico to short rib and homemade pizza, there is a massive range that any foodie would be impressed by!
Where: 66 Wellington St W
Canoe might primarily be known for their incredible view of the city, but their Canadian contemporary cuisine is just as incredible! In celebration of Winterlicious, they'll be hosting dishes like beef short rib, albacore tuna, vegetable lasagna and Atlantic halibut! They've got a great mix of vegetarian and meat dishes as well for any foodies who have any dietary or ethical restrictions!
Where: 4 Front St E
While I am personally heartbroken that Biff's didn't put their incredible mushroom soup on the menu (which you need to go back and grab after your Winterlicious visit), they've still got a ton of mouth-watering options for anyone looking for classic French cuisine. From their cream of tomato soup (which is also incredible) to main dishes like tri-tip steak and classic tourtiére, you will not be disappointed if you visit this spot!
Where: 188 University Ave
You can find Bosk year-round at the Shangri-La Hotel, but you most definitely cannot find these menu deals at this spot any other time than Winterlicious. The Canadian cuisine oriented spot boasts an absolutely gorgeous interior, but the praise doesn't end there. Their food is so good and they've introduced some incredible menu items for the season. From duck confit to potato gnocchi and grilled beef short rib, it's clear that you'll be eating like a King for half the price!
