Toronto's All-New Restaurant In Leslieville Is An Authentic Taste Of Italy And 'Mama Mia' Do You Ever Have To Go ASAP!!!

An upgrade to the East End favourite, Lil' Baci.

Last week a new restaurant popped up on the scene that has the East End and the rest of the city jumping with joy. If you used to dine in Toronto's Leslieville area you probably remember the popular Lil' Baci that served up authentic Italian pizzas.

Frankie's Italian was created in this exact location, by the same owners who also brought us popular spots like Annabelle Pasta Bar and BOB Coffee Bar.

Many East End-er's were sad to hear about the closing of Lil' Baci but the all-new version of this beloved restaurant is back with similar flavours and an upgraded design that will make you feel like it never left!

You can find the all-new Italian hot spot, Frankie's Italian, at 892 Queen St E. We tried it out last week and absolutely loved it! I was a big fan of Lil' Baci when it was around and I can honestly say that they've gone above and beyond with their new spot.

They have an all-day Italian brunch menu featuring items like truffled scrambled eggs, 'Baci Baked' with sausage, gruyere and pomodoro, yogurt parfaits, and fresh pastries.

The show-stoppers at this restaurant though are of course, their pizzas and pastas. We tried their Caramelized Onion White Pizza and I'm still dreaming about it to this day! The crust was soft, full of flavour and made us realize that we hadn't had good pizza until we tried this one.

We also tried their Burrata starter salad which changes every week! It's basically a cheese that's soft on the outside but inside it's extra creamy. They placed the cheese over peas, sweet corn and onions and it was delicious!

They have 3 pastas on their menu which change daily. Some specials they've featured already include Spaghetti with Lamb Bolognese, Rigatoni with Ricotta, Pomodoro and Spinach and Gnocchi Al Forno with more to come!

We also tried out one of their sandwiches, the Fried Chicken sandwich that was super crispy, seasoned perfectly and hit the spot! If you're craving something savoury and filling for lunch, one of their sandwiches is the perfect choice.

They kept the interior true to Lil' Baci for the most part with slight improvements like the pink bird accent wallpaper, the vintage mirrors in their tile walls, and the colourful and tropical wallpaper in the washrooms.

They have a bar opening in the afternoons featuring drinks like Gin and Camparu cocktails, Elderflower Negronis and a list of Italian wines. They also have an espresso machine making your favourite coffee drinks that can be picked up to go with a pastry or enjoyed with your meal!

As much as we loved Lil' Baci, Frankie's Italian more than makes up for it! Check out their Instagram for updates and mouth-watering shots of their food.
