It's pretty safe to say that at this point, jobs in digital marketing, web development and user experience design are basically a staple in the tech workforce. Meaning if you're looking to build a career, or get a job in something that'll be around for a very long time, choosing something in these fields is the way to go.

Whether you've already got a degree under your belt, you're already in a totally different career and looking for a new and fresh challenge, or you're as green as can be, it might seem a little intimidating to learn all there is to know about digital marketing, web development, user experience or user interface design - no matter how fun and interesting the topic is.

But that's exactly where Toronto's RED Academy comes in to save the day. A brand new type of learning environment, RED Academy has campuses in Toronto, Vancouver and London, England, and is more than ready to take on the tech world right along with you.

RED Academy specializes in digital marketing, user experience design, user interface design, web and app development and teaches its students everything they need to know about the tech and design industry. Plus, RED Academy also specializes in something that traditional education might not: working with real clients and setting up a real portfolio. No more old, hypothetical case studies.

Combining relevant education and real-world experience, RED Academy is built so that when you graduate, you're ready to dive headfirst into whatever the digital world has to offer. You'll learn a whole lot and tackle these real-world projects, all in a pretty sweet space, too.

The cool thing about RED Academy is that courses last 12 to 24 weeks (which is a lot shorter than traditional University classes) and the courses are designed so that they teach students skills that they not only need to graduate, but they also actually will use every single day in today's fast-paced digital economy. (Like JavaScript, for example, which 80% of developer jobs now require, but isn't taught in most traditional Computer Science degrees).

Plus, every class is taught by industry expertsand focuses on tackling real-world projects and helping students build their portfolios - which is exactly what employers today want. It also means that students aren't just learning through theory, but through real life situations, and being taught hands-on by people who not only know the material but have experienced it!

If a career in tech does sound like your dream come true, but you're not sure where to go from here, then there's good news in store for you. This month, RED Academy's hosting a huge networking event sure to answer all your questions!

On November 15th from 6 PM - 8 PM, RED Academy will be hosting their totally free to attend Career Directions in Tech and Design event, where you'll get to network with current, former and prospective students, participate in a panel discussion with a few of RED Academy's alumni and get a firsthand perspective of how RED Academy teaches and leads students to successful careers.

The main feature of the event, of course, will be centered around alumni from each of RED Academy's programs - so User Experience/User Interface Design, Web Development, and Digital Marketing. You can expect to meet former students (and get their firsthand account of what it's like learning at RED Academy!) Shanti Hadioetomo, an Interaction Designer at RBC; Vandita Tomer, a Web Developer at EDealer; and Adrian Sado, a Customer Acquisition Specialist at Loblaws Digital.

And while they'll be there to discuss their experience with RED Academy, it's also the perfect opportunity for you to ask any questions you might have, whether it's in regards to anything from classes or how RED helps their students in their career (and everything in between).

RED Academy doesn't just make sure you know what you're doing academically, but also in the real world workforce, too! They stick with their students all throughout their time at RED, all the way until they find their role in the tech field.

You can learn firsthand from seasoned RED Academy alumni just how the college teaches its students and ensures their success in the career world, this November 15th all thanks to their Career Directions event!
