There's less than a month left before we officially ring in the summer season, and that means most of our schedules are already jam-packed with fun things to do.
As soon as the sun hits the city, every Torontonian knows there's no escaping the many festivals, outdoor patios, live music events and general good vibes the city has to offer. But with all that fun we're having and sun we're soaking up, most of us can be left feeling a bit drained at the end of the day. That's where a good nap comes in.
Of course, many of us know what a bad sleep feels like: You wake up grumpy, uninterested in the day and ready to snap at the first person to smile at you. Not exactly a personality you want to have during the most enjoyable and sunny months of the year. The solution? A good mattress. And luckily for all of us sleep-deprived city-dwellers, Toronto is opening the Disneyland of mattress shopping.
Online mattress-in-a-box store Casper is opening its first Canadian retail destination, a 2,300-square-foot shop at Sherway Gardens, where shoppers are not only invited to look at and purchase mattresses, but doze off on them too.
Launched in 2014, Casper is known for selling mattresses that get delivered to customers' houses in a box. With its obsessively engineered, outrageously comfortable mattress, it's become one of the biggest disruptors in the sleep industry. So much so, in fact, that even 50 Cent (!) is an investor.
Over the last few years, they've been involved with various retail concepts like pop-ups and the Napmobile, which allowed people to book naps on-the-go. Now, they've finally found a home in Toronto, opening the first Casper Retail Store in Canada!
Inspired by the comforts of home, the Casper Sleep Shop invites visitors to test out Casper's product suite in one of four miniature homes. Product displays encourage shoppers to touch, feel, and learn about the design behind Casper’s obsessively engineered sleep offerings. Guests can purchase Casper products in the store, either to carry out or deliver to their doorsteps. The shop will also open its doors to the community for various events focused on sleep and wellness (and we all know we need more of that).
The store's vibe ensures customers feel at home: There are art pieces on the wall and things like books and roller skates on the floor. And Casper is so dedicated to bringing better sleep to Canadians that its opening a fleet of retail stores across the country, partnering with national retailers like Indigo and EQ3 to reach customers where they're most comfortable.
Their mattresses have four layers of high-density memory foam and hundreds of thousands of 5-star reviews, but if you're not in the market for one of those, Casper - which, did we mention, is the Official Sleep Partner of the Toronto Maple Leafs - also sells pillows, sheet sets, duvets, metal frames and dog beds.
The time to get the best sleep possible this summer is now!
