New York City's High Line is a 1.45-mile-long park built on an old elevated railway track. It's a huge hit among tourists and locals alike, which makes the news of Toronto's very own version of the famous park that much more exciting.

Toronto's own High Line will be called the "Green Line," and will be located from Lansdowne to Spadina. The project has been discussed since 2012, but only now have real plans been put into action.

Though there are no official dates set yet, there is $1.5 million set aside for the project as of now, meaning that the Green Line will hopefully begin the implementation process soon.  The project will be spearheaded by the Park People group, as well as the design firm DTAH.
