One of the worst feelings in the world is growing distant with your S.O. You start agonizing over what you might have done wrong, what you could do to fix it and whether or not it's all in your head.
If you're making yourself crazy wondering if they're going to end things with you, chances are that your hunch might be correct. I find that in most cases, you're feeling the way you are for a reason. Try not to panic and instead learn to notice the signs.
1. They change their routine.
Small changes in their life begin to occur, like getting a haircut or making new friends, often without incorporating you.
2. Your sexual chemistry has fizzled.
Your sex life is non-existent and the physical chemistry is no longer what it used to be.
3. They are noncommittal about the future.
Whether it's a concert in a couple months or a possible trip over the holidays, they're vague and unwilling to commit to future plans with you.
4. Communication is dying down.
They're suddenly more distant and aren't texting you as often. When you're together, they might not have much to say or make an effort to make conversation.
5. You're fighting more.
If it seems like you guys just can't agree on anything, it could be because one of you has realized they're no longer happy in the relationship.
6. They're talking about making major changes in their life.
Maybe they want to travel Australia for a month or are considering a job in a different city. Either way, this is a major red flag that they no longer care to see a future with you.
7. Every little thing seems to bother them.
Your partner may seem on edge and snappy, often when you don't feel like you've actually done anything wrong.
8. Making plans is suddenly really difficult.
They become super busy with work, friends, or other commitments in a way that they weren't during happier times.
9. They're shady about their phone activity.
If they start hiding their phone from you, it might be because they've been talking to someone else or telling their friends their plans of ending things with you.
10. They stop putting in effort.
In making plans, in their appearance, in their attitude, all relationships require effort. Without it, it's only a matter of time before the relationship falls apart.
11. They're constantly making excuses.
They come up with half-assed reasons as to why they're so busy or always in a bad mood.
12. Something just feels off.
Sometimes you can just trust your gut.
