20 Things You Need To Stop Worrying About In Your 20s
You've got this.
During your 20's so a lot of things seem impossible and possible all at the same time. Unfortunately, this makes pretty much everything more stressful and confusing.
With this comes copious amounts of worrying, but realistically things aren't as bad as you think they are. We promise!
So to make life a little easier we have compiled a list of 20 things you need to stop stressing out about in your 20's. If you can keep even just a few of these worries at bay, you'll be way more calm cool and collected for the remained of your golden years
1. Getting everything right, all the time.
Let's make it clear that this is underlying message for every single point on this list. You're not perfect, I'm nowhere near perfect, and neither is anybody else. As long as you're learning from your mistakes you should not regret making them.
2. Feeling the constant need to justify your decisions.
Your 20s is the ultimate time to be selfish. You don't need to come up with 5 good reasons why you want to spend the night in watching Netflix and ignoring your text messages.
3. Finding "the one".
Yes, some people are lucky enough to have a high school sweetheart but not everyone needs a better half, so don't feel pressured to find one.
4. Not making the right career move.
Realistically we are all going to have jobs we hate, and a couple we love. You have your whole life ahead of you to become a CEO, don't sweat it.
5. Achieving the Perfect GPA.
Do your best, and the rest will come.
6. The amount of "likes" you're getting on social media.
I cannot reiterate this enough. The amount of likes you get social media says nothing about how amazing of a person you are. Whether you get 3 likes or 300 likes, it has no correlation with how funny, smart, attractive or kind you are.
7. Questioning whether to continue certain friendships.
If you're questioning whether someone should be a part of your life, there is a good chance they shouldn't. Don't put up with toxic people, you're better than that.
8. Asking for help when you need it.
Asking for help should never make you feel small. Always remember that there are so many people willing to lend a hand in your life, you may just have to let them know that you need it.
9. Being able to afford your own place.
With the way the housing market is right now, it's not surprising that owning your own place is seeming a little unrealistic. Try not to worry about still living with a roommate, it's totally understandable in your 20s.
10. Not traveling as much as your peers.
Realistically, some of us just can't afford it. No matter how many times your friends say "you need to go here, and of course you need to visit there" just remember that you have your whole life ahead of you to explore the world.
11. Having student debt.
Student debt is almost inevitable. Yes, it is overwhelming, but you'll get through it.
12. Not having a serious/consistent relationship.
Everyone is different, especially when it comes to wanting a relationship or cherishing being single. Do what makes you happy, that's the end of it.
13. Going through with something because you feel obligated.
Do things because you want to, not because you feel like you have to.
14. Comparing your own accomplishments in relation to other peoples accomplishments.
You're no less successful just because someone else is also successful.
15. Being a part of one-sided relationships.
Whether these relationships are romantic or platonic, it's not fair for one person to be in charge of initiating everything.
16. Other people's preconceived opinions of you.
It's not your fault that other people are judgemental. If you haven't yet made a first impression, you have absolutely nothing to worry about it.
17. Wanting to go back to school because you no longer like your field.
This is totally understandable and more common than you'd think. It's better to do something you love and graduate a little later than to go straight into the workforce and be totally unhappy.
18. Fearing change.
You're going to face the most amount of change in your 2os, so there is really no way of avoiding it. Start embracing it, because it's the only way you will grow, improve and reach your goals in the future!
19. Your Ex.
If you're still thinking/worrying about a past relationship, there is probably something that needs to be talked about. Either get your closure or move on. Stop putting yourself through the ultimate mindfvck and deal with it.
20. Being on par with lists on the internet.
