A successful TV show is one that is still revisited beyond its glory days by both loyal fans and new viewers. It's a show that can appeal individuals of all ages, regardless of the demographic it is actually intended for.
That being said, teen shows from the past could therefore be classified as successful shows, since most of them somehow managed to keep us coming back. In fact, some of them might even be more enjoyable to watch now that we're older, which is a rare thing.
To describe the following TV shows as "forgotten" would perhaps be a slight overstatement. Each one of these teen shows is iconic to some degree, so they're probably not so easy to forget about. But just in case they did slip your mind, here they are to remind you of the good ol' days:
