If you're currently living in Toronto, you already know how much of a struggle it is to find affordable accommodations in the city. No matter where you look, whether the apartment is smack dab in the middle of downtown or an hour commute outside, the prices just won't go down! 

Recent data released by Padmapper showed that the average price of a one bedroom apartment in Toronto has now reached $2,000! Yup, the average price. It's a sad, sad real estate world we're living in right now in the Toronto and it seems to be getting worse by the month.

So, with the unfortunate fact in mind that the average rent is now $2,000/month, a 'cheap' apartment will be anything under that price. While that isn't considered cheap by most working class individuals in Toronto, that's just how it is.
