There is no guaranteed recipe for fame. Some people pull out all the stops in their relentless pursuit of it and still come out empty-handed. Others do absolutely nothing at all and somehow end up with all the fame in the world.

When comparing celebrities, it's sometimes puzzling to see that some are less famous than their counterparts despite being equally as talented as them. In this sense, we can say that starpower is not an all-encompassing measure of one's talent and success.

The following celebrities in this list are all Canadian, and it's safe to say that they've all worked hard to get to where they are now. However, there is no denying that there's an imbalance that exists between their levels of fame:

1. Robbie Amell / Stephen Amell (The Flash/Arrow crossovers)

Although Robbie and Stephen are both on fire right now, Stephen seems to have the slight edge. Robbie has had a slew of decent gigs in his career, including roles in two Scooby-Doo! movies, The Duff and the in CW's The Flash. Stephen also stars in a CW series as Oliver Queen in Arrow. He currently has 4.4 million likes on his Facebook page compared to Robbie's 780K.

2. David Visentin / Hilary Farr (Love It Or List It)

We've all fallen in love with David Visentin and Hilary Farr from Love It Or List It. There's no denying that they have an impeccable on-screen chemistry that we just can't get enough of. Though both of them are extremely good at their jobs, most of us find ourselves rooting more for Hilary and hoping that the episode ends with the couple saying "We're going to love it". Currently, Hilary has around 90K likes on her Facebook page, while David has 2K.

3. Vanessa Lengies / Elisha Cuthbert (Popular Mechanics For Kids)

A lot of people may be surprised to know that Vanessa Lengies and Elisha Cuthbert were once co-hosts. Popular Mechanics For Kids was a platform show for both of their careers; however, most people seem to be more familiar with Elisha, who has appeared in cult movies like The Girl Next Door and House of Wax. That's not to say Vanessa hasn't had her share of successes, though. She's starred in several classic 90's shows like Are You Afraid of the Dark and Radio Active, and has also held roles in several movies, including Stick-It.

4. Taylor Kitsch / Rachel McAdams (True Detective)

Rachel McAdams is definitely a Canadian household name, and has a whole list of successful movies under her belt. We see a much darker side of her as Ani Bezzerides in the second season of True Detective, where she works alongside co-star Taylor Kitsch. Though Taylor may not be at the same level as Rachel McAdams in his career yet, he's had a good start, with solid roles in movies like Friday Night Lights and The Covenant.

5. Carrie-Anne Moss / Keanu Reeves (The Matrix)

Carrie-Anne and Keanu became sci-fi icons thanks to the success of The Matrix trilogy. Keanu is clearly the more well-known celebrity; however, Carrie-Anne still has a lot going for her, having been cast in a few projects coming this 2016. She's also the founder of Annapurna Living, an online website that promotes healthy lifestyles for women.

6. Kevin Durand / Evangeline Lilly (Lost)

Evangeline Lilly was plummeted into stardom thanks to her memorable role as Kate in Lost. Since then, she's been very busy, and has recently appeared in a few big movies like The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug and Ant-Man. Though her Lost co-star Kevin Durand is not as easily recognizable as she is, he has also landed a couple of movie roles in his career, such as X-Men Origins: Wolverine and I Am Number Four.
