8 Things To Do In Toronto To Feel Like A Cowboy
Are you in the mood to get country wild? No problem, there are many places to do that in Toronto. Whether you're in the mood to drink, eat, party or embrace the country lifestyle, our city has it all.
I've put together a list of different activities and ways you can catch up on that country lovin'. Let your inner cowboy/girl loose and giddy up to check out these places. Here are 8 ways you can live the country lifestyle in Toronto:
1. Eat lots of meat.
Have a meaty meal at Stack Restaurant. Their menu features dishes from Southern BBQ cuisine and they provide a variety of other options for those of you who don't eat meat. Take in the wild west by having everything with BBQ sauce all over it.
2. Go to a agricultural exhibit.
3. Ride at the Ranch
Spend a day horse back riding at the Wildwood Ranch. Hit up the trails or take a riding lesson with an instructor. For $185 you can have a full day in the saddle along with lunch or pay $20 for a 15 minute ride. Giddy up cowboy!
4.Buy a pair of boots
Check out Bootmaster on Yonge street to stalk up on country gear. It's been open since the late 80's and is known to be one of the best country stores offering a great selection of brand name cowboy boots.
5. Dance country
Grab an awesome pair of country boots and stomp away at Toronto's Country Music Line Dancing. From 8:00pm - 10:00 every Thursday, free lessons are taught at Boots & Bourbon. Don't worry if you're not a pro, line dancing lessons are offered for all skill levels.
6. Shoot at a range
There's no better way to absorb the south west then to shoot some guns. Take a trip to Target Sport Canada and take your best shot. There are two independent shooting bays with 25 bays in total.
7. Attend a country themed party
The Horseshoe Tavern hosts the best country themed nights in Toronto. You're guaranteed to have a great night if you go here because the party continues all night long.
8. Go to a country bar.
There are several bars around the city that have a south-west vibe. Grab a bite and have some drinks at Boots 'N' Bourbon, Rock 'N' Horse or Dakota Tavern. Eat some deep fried pickles, potato skins, fried chicken, pulled pork and several other dishes from the Southern cuisine. Oh and of course, don't forget to ride the bull!!!
