This Canada Day Weekend thousands of Torontonians celebrated with Canadian performances live at City Hall and Nathan Phillips Square. The events, from June 30th to July 3rd, all feature Canadian performers and are budget friendly at a grand total of $0. That's right, free.
So when Canadian duo DVSN was added to the Sunday night line-up, it was no surprise that thousands of hip-hop fanatics came out to take advantage of the free show. When DVSN ended their set a little short, fans were hit with the iconic line we all know and love as Drake AND Toronto fans: I was running through the 6 with my WOES.
That's right, the real Drizzy Drake came out to celebrate Canada Day right here, at Nathan Phillips Square. Drizzy said a few, beautiful words for the crowd about his country, in true Canadian golden boy fashion:
"It's an honour and a pleasure, truly, to be celebrating Canada's 150th. And I want to tell you, when we celebrate Canada, we celebrate all these individuals from all races, all places, that came here and found solitude in this beautiful country. We celebrate our indigenous people, we celebrate the land that we're standing on tonight. I just came for the party, y'all."
Majid Jordan and Roy Woods also accompanied Drake as he performed hits Jumpman, Fake Love and Gyalcaster. Fans, appropriately, lost their sh*t and we have the tweets/videos to prove it.

So thank-you Drake, for throwing Canada the best birthday party ever. We stand on guard for thee.
