With application deadlines nearing, high school students across the province are deciding which Ontario universities they would like to attend after graduation.
Such decision is largely influenced by a student’s academic performance. Every university has different grade requirements, and it’s important for students know what they are so they can figure out which universities are feasible options for them.
Maclean’s created a helpful chart showing the minimum grade average for admission of full-time students at every university in Ontario, based on 2016 admission statistics. The grades are listed under four main faculties: Arts, Science, Commerce and Engineering.
According to the chart, most universities in the province require average grades of 70 per cent for admission. Only Waterloo, Western and Queens require average grades of 80 per cent for admission in any faculty.
Of course, these numbers are simply guidelines and do not represent official admission requirements. Students are advised to visit each university’s official website for the most accurate information.
