"Will you just put your phone down already!!!!" - Your mom, dad, aunt, grandpa, teacher, pretentious friend who buys film from a dude in Milkwakee on Ebay.
You've heard it once, you've heard it a thousand times - you shouldn't take pictures of everything, you should enjoy your experience as is. No photos, no phone.
Alright haters, well get a load of this: in a recent study by the American Psychological Association, participants who took photographs whilst experiencing tourist activities experienced a higher level enjoyment than those who did not.
Over 2,000 people participated in the study, half of which took pictures and the other half simply experienced the events. The participants taking pictures only dropped in enjoyment levels when having to do something interactive ex. practicing archery, or photographing something they didn't enjoy in the first place. The participants taking photos were said to feel in control of their experience, and had a better time engaging with the activities.
So go ahead! Get that 'gram heat! Your Instagram sleeps for no one.
