I don't need to tell you that Toronto is expensive. We spend so much money going out to bars, Ubering home for those bars and paying for a Netflix subscription for your drunk nights at home.

We've got a list of how much money you have to make in order to have fun and live a life with necessities, and fun. Disclaimer: you really don't need to have an insane amount of money to have a good life, it's really more about the people and the life you're living.

At the end of the day, I think we all just want to know how much money we need to be making to have a night out and not eat Mr. Noodles for a whole week after.

These are average numbers, and will fluctuate depending on your wants and needs in your life. This is just an average idea.

Are you ready to find out the truth?

RENT: 1 bedroom apartment plus den: $1,800 average per month.

EATING OUT: $50/week: $200/month.

GROCERIES: $150-$200 a month.

GOING OUT: $100/week (drinks, cab, etc): $400/month.

UBER/TAXIS: Average $10-$15 ride, Average 5 trips a week: $75.

METROPASS: $145.

TOILETRIES: $50 a month on average (fluctuate based on needs: makeup, toilet paper, etc).

NETFLIX: $8-$10 a month.

GYM/FITNESS: $50 (25 bi-weekly) on average depending on the gym.

INTERNET: $80 a month with Bell (depending who you're with).

PHONE PLAN: $55 per month.

OTHER: $300: Miscellaneous expenses depending on needs, going out, clothing, vacations, etc.

Total cost per month: $3,365

Total cost per year: $40,380

And that's just basic costs of living plus some fun times, that means based on these numbers, you'd need to be making at least $50,000 per year. What kind of millennial is making $50,000 a year? Guess I'll just go apply for 8 more jobs...
