Toronto Man Proposes To His Girlfriend With A Ridiculously Cute Scavenger Hunt
Alright Toronto, it seems that we have found proof that chivalry is still alive and well right here in our city! Alek Von Felkerzam proposed to his now fiancé Jessica this past weekend at Nathan Philips Square, but the best part is the journey she had to take in order for him to pop the question.
On Saturday, December 10th Alek had Jessica complete an adorable scavenger hunt around the city that consisted of handwritten notes, gifts, and endless amounts of planning. The scavenger hunt started at David's Tea on Yonge and Eglington. Alek asked Jessica to pick up some tea for him, and once she opened the container given to her by the staff, she found the first of many clues Alek had left all around the city. This first note read "congrats for reaching your first stop, and proceed to destination #2"...which led her to Sport Chek!
After she arrived at Sport Check Jessica was instructed to pick up a package at the cash. In the package was a pair of skates along with letter number 2! The second note read "Head across the street to Mendocino Clothing. Helpful ladies will be waiting for you! Just say your name!".
Upon arrival at Mendocino, the staff helped Jessica pick out a gorgeous gown, making her look just like a princess.
Once Jessica finished off at Mendocino, she was given her next clue. The note instructed her to head to Nathan Philips square, her final destination of the evening!
Once Jessica arrived at the ice rink she was greeted by her future fiancé! He helped her lace up her skates, and took one lap around the rink before getting on one knee and popping the question. I think it's no surprise that Jessica accepted, and she was given her final note, along with a beautiful ring!
Alek stated "her reaction was exactly what I had hoped for and with an 'of course, yes, yes' answer! It was priceless, and the ring fit perfectly! Gagnon! People formed a circle around us, cheering and clapping us on! It was the perfect ending to this fairytale... and some!"
The couple then made their way to La Bettola di Terroni, where the celebrated with champagne! The happy couple is pretty much Toronto's fairytale, and we wish them the best for the years to come. Congrats Jessica and Alek! :)
Alek also wanted to ensure that all participating stores were thanked for their help!
