What To Watch On Canadian Netflix In September 2014
The fall was made for this.
My neck, my back, my Netflix and my snacks- except replace "neck" with a snuggy and "back" with a pumpkin spice latte and there you have it, September! Netflix is the perfect prescription to cure that September Sadness because, let's be honest, you can't start being productive yet; the pain of losing summer is still so new, so fresh. Netflix just gets us so they knew we would need them more than ever this month and have uploaded a ton of new options! We don't want you to work any harder than you already have too so we did the legwork for you.
The story of everyone’s favourite high school seniors on a journey to lose their virginity has been a classic for a while and is now finally available at our disposable. Join Stiffler and the gang for old times sake or in case you were just starting to be okay with pie again.
Trouble With The Curve
Starring Clint Eastwood, Amy Adams and everyone’s boyfriend Justin Timberlake, this film is a terrific choice for a lazy Sunday morning or to watch with your significant other. The story revolves around Gus Lobel, a baseball scout who brings his daughter along with him to scope out the final prospect of his career.
12 Years A Slave
This Oscar winning film about a black male taken from New York and subsequently sold into slavery makes its Canadian Netflix debut this month. In case you, like some of us, were not able to face it on the big screen, now you can screen it, even maybe in increments, from the comfort of your own home. A can't be missed piece of history if we're being straight up about it.
Trailer Park Boys

Wolf Of Wall Street
The true story of Jordan Belfort, a stock-broker in New York City, who essentially gets unimaginably rich and then gets involved in all the bad things that he shouldn’t, you know, hookers, drugs, fraud, etc. Leonardo Di Caprio is unreal in this film, even though he didn't win the Oscar (YES WE ARE STILL BITTER). If you are the only person in the world who has not yet seen this movie, now is your chance!
Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues
Ron Burgundy returns with his quintessential crew of misfit journalists to take on the world’s first ever 24-hours news channel. Sequels can be a real double-edged sword, you think you want them but 99% of the time you really don't. In the case of this follow-up, we may not love it like we do the original but it is definitely worth watching a couple of times.
A man avenges the murder of his father after finding out that his dad was, in fact, a member of a secret society of assassins. Just as badass as it sounds and Angelina Jolie is in it so it is a win-win.
The Dark Knight Rises
Bruce Wayne is back as Batman in the final installment of the Dark Knight trilogy from Christopher Nolan. It's a batman film, its the end of a trilogy, it has Anne Hathaway in a leather cat unitard, do you need much more convincing?
Kids movies don't have to be just for kids. Adam Sandler stars in this cartoon centered on a high-end hotel owner, Dracula. Everything changes when a human infiltrates and falls in love with the counts daughter, which just spells out some Sandler comedic gold.

The fifth installment of the franchise that seems to never quit will be available for your viewing pleasure on September 12th. In this one, a group of high school students deal with the demons of a cult that seem to have taken a liking to one of them in particular, the marked one.
Who doesn't love Forrest Gump? Catch up with the sweet Forrest as he reminds of us of some of life's greatest advice- "Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get". Watch it for the 99th time or maybe watch it for the first time but, definitely, watch it.
The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty
Ben Stiller and the adorable Kristen Wiig star in this film based on a 1939 short story. Walter Mitty spends his days daydreaming himself into some pretty awesome adventures to get away from his daily life. Eventually the adventure becomes real life when he needs to save his job and the job of his love interest.
The 1999 comedy is a great pick this month when you find yourself without anything to do or heck even when you find yourself with a shit ton of stuff you should be doing. It is another great trip back in time with three employees who hate their jobs and decide to get revenge on their boss.
Weeds: Season 6
Catch up with the latest streaming season of this series that follows a suburban mom who has resigned to selling marijuana around her neighborhood in order to keep her family afloat after her husband dies. Great for binge watching with your munchies ;)
Snow White And The Huntsman
We all heard about this movie, perhaps for the wrong reasons *cough* Kristen Stewart's affair with married director while dating handsome vampire Robert Pattinson *cough. * Regardless, Charlize Theron slays as the evil Queen confronted by Snow White, newly equipped with skills learnt from the Huntsman who was originally sent to kill her.
