Halo halo is a traditional Filipino dessert that combines a whole bunch of good stuff. According to Max's Restaurant, it is "a blend of refreshing tropical fruit preserves, beans, and milk in shaved ice, topped with a delicious scoop of Ube (purple yam) ice cream, flan, and rice flakes."

The term halo halo itself translates to "mixed together", so it only makes sense that it would incorporate a smorgasbord of different ingredients. What makes it special, however, is that all of the ingredients complement each other - from the shaved ice to the jackfruit and beans.

You can get glorious halo halo bowls in Toronto at Max's, a Filipino restaurant. The best part? The massive bowls only go for $6.99 each, so they're perfect for dates under $10.
