We all know Twitter as a place for us to share our philosophical thoughts and dump our pesky complaints. If you're not or never have been an avid Twitter user, you are exempt from this list. However, many of us Torontonians are avid Twitter users, and a majority of us have all admittedly tweeted more or less along the lines of these things.
1. "I hate the TTC."
Ok. Complaining about it every single day is not going to make it any better.
2. "I hate the winter/cold/snow."
Cool. Very enlightening tweet. Really needed to hear this.
3. Horoscopes via third party apps
There's nothing I enjoy more than waking up to insightful horoscope tweets that are not needed on my timeline. Most commonly done by Toronto biddies.
4. New followers/unfollowers via third party apps
Surprise, surprise, there are ways to see how many people followed or unfollowed you without having to post it for everyone to see. If you care so much about followers, start hashtagging all your stuff #toronto.
5. Excessive hashtagging
This is more often seen on Instagram (ex. #torontophoto #lovetoronto #igerstoronto #thankyoutoronto), but people do it on Twitter as well.
6. "I love Chipotle/I want Chipotle/I need Chipotle/something to do with Chipotle."
First of all, you're making me hungry. Second of all, shut up.
7. "*insert sports player name here*!!!"
Particularly happens during Leafs, Raptors, or Jays games. Thank you, and you, and you, and you, and you, for enthusiastically yelling out names on my timeline. I now know who Tyler Bozak is.
8. Live-tweeting Leafs games
Thanks for sharing the entire game with everyone. Also, for spamming my entire timeline to the point where I can't even be bothered to look at it.
