1. David Thompson (Thompson Family) // $36.76 billion
David Thomson is presently the richest Canadian man, who is the chairman of Thomson Reuters. The major multinational mass media and information firm was founded in Toronto. Thompson Reuters operates in over 100 countries, and has more than 60,000 employees around the globe.
2. Galen Weston // $13.67 billion
The 74-old Canadian entrepreneur is not ready to retire just yet. He continues to chair George Weston Ltd., ( a leading food processing and distribution company) and owns several high-end department stores including Holt Renfrew and Selfridges.
3. Garrett Camp // 6.3 billion
Garrett Camp is the Co-founder and Chairman for both StumbleUpon and Uber. At the age of 37, he is currently the 3rd richest person in Canada.
4. Rogers Family // $8.86 billion
The Rogers family ranks 4th on the list of Canada's richest people. Guy Laurence is presently Chief Exec who leads the firm, but relatives Edward, Melinda and Martha Rogers and Loretta Rogers are all active board members.

5. Irving Family // $7.50 billion
Arthur Irving, James Irving and John E. Irving rank 5th on the list of Canada's richest people through Irving Oil Ltd. and J.D. Irving Ltd.
6. Joseph Tsai // $7.30 billion
Joseph Tsai is a co-founder and the vice chairman of e-commerce Alibaba Group. He worked for a private equity after graduating with a law degree from Yale University.
7. James Pattison // 6.89 billion
The Vancouver native is the sole owner, chairman and CEO of the second largest owned privately owned company, Jim Pattison Group. Much of his wealth also comes from shares owned with Just Energy Group, a natural gas and electricity reseller with a customer-based around the globe.
8. Saputo Family // 6.43 billion
The Italian-Canadian family from Montreal owns a dairy factory, that was founded in 1954 by Emanuele "Lino" Saputo. He is currently the CEO of the dairy prodcuer, but the 12 billion dollar cheese company is run by his grandchildren. The family actively participates in contributing to the Montreal community in a variety of charities, boards and foundations.
9. Paul Jr. and Andre Desmarais // 6.10 billion
Paul Jr and Andre are the sons of Paul Desmarais Sr, one of Canada's greatest empire entrepreneurs. They are currently the Chairmen and Ceo's of a business passed on by their father, Power Corporation of Canada.

10. The Richardson Family // 5.63 billion
James Richardson & Sons Ltd. is a private Canadian food and agricultural company that was founded in 1857 by the Richardson family. Their income comes from several others services such as a financial group and a oil and gas exploration company.
11. Jeffrey S. Skoll // 5.22 billion
The 50 year old Canadian engineer, internet entrepreneur and film producer is a Montreal native. He was the first president of eBay, but is currently the CEO and chairman of Participant Media, which funds feature and documentary films that support social values.
