Last week, a Northern Ontario man woke up to the usual sound of his two year old crying. What he when he got up, however, was completely out of the ordinary.

Timothy Joseph Elzinga described the sight to CBC as "dancing lights in the sky." According to the National Geographic, there's a name for this phenomenon: "light pillars." Light pillars appear from natural light sources, like the sun or moon, or artificial sources, like man-made lights.

Elzinga quickly got out his phone to capture the incredible sight.
