Back in 2013, Tina Fey hinted that she was working on bringing Mean Girls to the big stage. Now, the Washington Post has revealed that the project is heading to the National Theatre in Washington DC, where it will premiere for the first time in the upcoming season.
Though official dates have yet to be announced, the musical is set to go with Casey Nicholaw, the director of the acclaimed Something Rotten, at the helm.
Dedicated fans in Toronto could make the trip if they wanted to - Washington DC is approximately an 8-hour drive from Toronto, or 1 hour by flight. Maybe if it takes off at the National, we could see it make its way to Broadway and eventually to Toronto, just like the Harry Potter play!
