A State Of Emergency Has Been Issued In Ontario Over Dangerous Flooding Conditions

Please be careful.

While the wet and grey weather might seem like a beautiful dream in the middle of February - the rain has caused some serious weather warnings for those living in the Southern Ontario area.

According to the Weather Network, "A dangerous situation is unfolding across southern Ontario as heavy rain prompts evacuations amid significant flooding and ice jams."

The risk of flooding is so severe, that the City of Brantford issued an "immediate evacuation" for their residence. While in Cambridge, ice jams (which causes water levels to rapidly rise) have forced many roads to close.

The turbulent weather is being pinned on moisture tracking in from the Gulf of Mexico and causing massive rainfall for parts of Ontario .

Those who are most at risk are anyone from Grand Valley, Ontario all the way south to Lake Erie and those living as far west as Brantford and Cambridge. Especially those close to the currently flooded Grand River.

Officials are telling people to stay away from moving rivers and creeks and to stay off the roads. They also ask that people do not drive through any high levels of water.
