A Toronto University Student Was Shot And Killed In Broad Daylight Today And This Is What You Need To Know

Toronto Police are still investigating the incident that left a 26-year old Ryerson University student dead.

Toronto has been experiencing a bad year for crime and the autumn season has not caused any changes in continued shootings across the city. 

Today, a university student in Toronto was killed near Downsview Park after being shot in the chest. While the name of the victim has not been released, police have confirmed with CityNews that the deceased was a 26-year old male attending Ryerson University.

The incident occurred in broad daylight on Thursday around Camborne Avenue and Dalraith Road, close to the 401 Highway. Toronto Police was called to the scene around 2:00 PM this afternoon when they found the 26-year old man unconscious in his car. He was shortly pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

Toronto Police Service spokesperson, Katrina Arrogante, told CBC that witnesses nearby heard a total of five shots. 

Police are now attempting to locate suspects who were seen fleeing the scene in a grey vehicle. CBC reports that they were wearing hooded sweatshirts and were last seen travelling eastbound from the area.

Currently, Camborne Avenue and Dalraith Road intersection are closed as the Toronto Police continue with their investigation.
