The Cheesecake Factory may be adding another Canadian restaurant to its long list of international locations. So far, The Cheesecake Factory's only Canadian restaurant is located at Yorkdale Shopping Centre in Toronto. However, numerous industry sources have reported that a second Cheesecake Factory may be opening at Square One Shopping Centre in Mississauga.
According to a source from Square One Shopping Centre, mall management is "in talks" with The Cheesecake Factory top open a new location either inside or near Square One, Mississauga.com reports. Although the news has not yet been confirmed by administrators from The Cheesecake Factory nor Square One's property management company, Oxford Properties, neither party has denied the rumours.
"Our restaurant development team is always on the lookout for premier sites to further grow The Cheesecake Factory brand presence, and all sites that fit our criteria for success will be seriously considered," Alethea Rowe, senior director of public relations for The Cheesecake Factory, told the public in a press release.
Talha Wasti, manager of content and communications for Oxford Properties, was asked whether or not cheesecake-lovers in Mississauga should be rejoicing over a new location at Square One.

"We don’t have anything to announce at the current moment, however Oxford continues to bring new retail options and experiences to Square One," he told reporters, speaking to the gigantic Food District that finally opens next month at Square One, hosting over 25 and shops. "Stay tuned for upcoming exciting announcements in 2019."
Two potential locations for The Cheesecake Factory have been identified in the Square One area. A prime location for the restaurant would be where the mall's former movie theatre stood on the west side of the building. The movie theatre closed down in 2014 and is now under construction.
Another promising spot for the restaurant would be the site of the old Chapters location at 189 Rathburn Rd. W. across the street, now sitting empty after the bookstore reopened as an Indigo retail outlet just down the street.
