Bruce McArthur has officially been charged with 8 murders now. The alleged serial killer made an appearance in court today via video to hear the newest charge brought against him by police.

McArthur, 66, apparently showed no emotion while in court today.

Police said last week that they had identified the victim but did not release the name until today.

Police originally released a photo of the victim to the public in the hope that someone could help correctly identify them.

Today we learned that the name of McArthur’s alleged victim is Kirushna Kumar Kanagaratnam, he is alleged to have been killed by McArthur sometime between Sept. 3 and Dec. 14 of 2015.

At the time of writing police say it is unclear how exactly Kanagaratnam and McArthur met.

The exact cause of death has also not been determined at this point.

There also apparently isn’t any evidence tying Kanagaratnam to the gay community, a community which many of McArthur’s alleged victims have been a part of.

Kanagaratnam reportedly moved to Canada in 2010, he was originally from Sri Lanka. After arriving in Canada he settled in Scarborough.

McArthur’s other alleged victims include:

Selim Esen, 44, Abdulbasir Faizi, 44, Majeed Kayhan, 58, Andrew Kinsman, 49, Dean Lisowick, 47, Soroush Mahmudi, 50, and Skandaraj Navaratnam, 40.

None of the charges against McArthur have been proven in court yet.

McArthur worked as a landscaper and reportedly hid the remains of some of his alleged victims in flowerpots at a property that he did work for.
