If you're ever felt overwhelmed by the crowds of the Eaton Centre, a new report proves that you're probably not alone. A study completed by the Retail Council of Canada found that of all malls in Canada, the Eaton Centre is by far the busiest, with an annual pedestrian count of 48,969,858 (the next busiest mall is over 14 million behind).
Interestingly, though the Eaton Centre attracts the largest number of customers, it only hits the 4th spot in sales. Another Toronto mall took first place in profit, with Yorkdale Mall hitting a whopping $1650.85 in sales per square foot, even though Yorkdale came in 10th for traffic with only 18 million annual pedestrians.
What do you think of the news? Are you surprised by the rankings?
